? JEFFERSON ADVANCES The Jefferson Dragons basketball stayed perfect in Region 8-3A play with a 55–42 semifinal win over the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes basketball in Jefferson Georgia. Jefferson jumped out fast with a 12–0 run to open the game and built a 24–10 lead early in the second quarter, setting the tone early in the matchup. After finishing the regular season 10–0 in Region 8-3A, the Dragons avoided the upset and secured their place in the Region 8-3A championship game. Head coach Kevin Morris praised his team’s gritty approach following the victory. “They are a scrappy group.
