East Hall’s improbable postseason run came to an end Saturday in the GHSA Class 3A state semifinals as the East Hall Vikings fell 78–59 to Cross Creek Razorbacks at Legacy Arena. The loss ended one of the most remarkable turnarounds in Georgia high school basketball this season. East Hall began the year 2–13 before rallying to capture the Region 8-3A championship and advance all the way to the Final Four. Head coach Joe Dix praised the Vikings’ resilience and growth throughout the season as the team fought through adversity and delivered a late-season surge few expected. Though their championship hopes fell just short, East Hall’s postseason run will be remembered as one of the most inspiring stories of the 2026 GHSA basketball playoffs. Gainesville had one final possession to respond after the go-ahead shot, but Woodward Academy’s defense held strong as time expired, sealing one of the most thrilling games of the GHSA Final Four.
