In a defensive battle between the #3 Park Vista Cobras and the #5 Fort Pierce Central Cobras, turnovers and interceptions dominated the first three quarters. Fort Pierce Central broke through in the fourth to take a 13-6 lead. With just 1:44 remaining, senior quarterback Jordana Weil led a brilliant final drive for Park Vista, converting multiple fourth downs before throwing a touchdown on the final play of regulation to sophomore Sydney Hock. Park Vista elected to go for the win with a two-point conversion — and converted. Final score: 14-13. The Cobras remain undefeated. In a defensive battle, Wellington was the only team to find the end zone. Quarterback Liv Nagel threw three touchdown passes, including two to ESPN West Palm Top-20 standout Avery Schroeder. The game was neck and neck throughout. Suncoast jumped out early, but Stranahan battled back and kept the second half within four points nearly the entire way. Fouls mounted on both sides in a gritty, high-intensity showdown where every possession mattered. By overtime, Stranahan had lost key players to fouling out. Suncoast capitalized with clean execution, highlighted by a clutch and-1 play from senior point guard Kyree McKelton that stretched the lead late. In one of the most dramatic games of the South Florida high school basketball playoffs, the #1 Somerset Canyons Cougars rallied to defeat the #2 Lincoln Park Academy Greyhounds 47-46 in the Class 3A Region 3 Championship. Lincoln Park was on fire from beyond the three-point line for three quarters and led by as many as 10 points midway through the third. With seconds left in the quarter and holding a seven-point lead, the Greyhounds fouled a Somerset shooter beyond the arc on a buzzer-beater attempt. The Cougars calmly knocked down all three free throws to swing momentum. Just seconds into the fourth quarter, Delanie Doty drilled a three-pointer to ignite the comeback. Doty added two more threes in the final period as Somerset locked down defensively and completed the rally to punch their ticket back to the state semifinals.
