EAST HALL ADVANCES TO THE REGION CHAMPIONSHIP The East Hall Vikings basketball punched their ticket to the Region 8-3A championship with a hard-fought 82–75 victory over the Cherokee Bluff Bears basketball in the semifinals in Jefferson Georgia. East Hall came out firing, jumping to a 10–0 start and building a 20-point lead in the first half. But Cherokee Bluff battled back with multiple second-half runs to keep the pressure on. Despite the comeback attempts, the Vikings held their composure late to secure the win and advance to the Region 8-3A title game. After starting the season 2–13, head coach Joe Dix says the early struggles helped prepare the team for high-pressure moments. “Our group thread is ‘never quit’ because that’s who they are,” Dix said. “We’ve played so many good teams that these moments don’t really scare us.” Now East Hall is playing its best basketball at the right time as the postseason continues.
