Usman Tariq Khawaja is an Australian cricketer born on December 18, 1986, who represents both Australia and Queensland in cricket. He made his debut in first-class cricket for New South Wales in 2008 and later played his first international match for Australia in January 2011. Apart from his contributions to Australian cricket, Khawaja has also played in various overseas leagues, including county cricket in the United Kingdom and stints in both the Indian Premier League and the Pakistan Super League Twenty20 tournaments.
Khawaja played a crucial role as a member of the Australian team that emerged victorious in the 2021–2023 ICC World Test Championship. His remarkable performance in the championship, where he scored 1,621 runs, made him the second-highest run-scorer and the highest among Australian batsmen. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Khawaja was honored with the ICC Test Cricketer of the Year Award in 2023.
